Today I made my first stock purchase(s) of 2018.
I know it has only been a day since I published my Stock Watch List.
Don’t judge me!
I got a little antsy. I had $3500 sitting in my ROTH IRA brokerage account waiting for a buying opportunity.
Another big drop for REITs and my itching finger could not be controlled any longer.
Take my money Mr. Market!
I purchased the following:
30 shares of SKT @ $25.39
Yes, this stock continued to drop after I bought it, but I still feel like this is a fair valuation. Plus the management team has guided this stock to 24 straight years of dividend increases. Come on 25!
20 shares of EPR @ $61.84
I’m certainly glad to add this stock to my investments. I love all the different investments in the EPR portfolio. They include AMC movie theaters, Top Golf, and water parks. This list of tenants makes me very excited!
Speaking of excitement, I can’t forget the fact this company pays a monthly dividend!
This is one I will hang on to for the long run.
20 shares of VTR @ $57.43
I’m pumped about this stock as well.
Did I mention I like Healthcare?
It is great to have another healthcare REIT to go along with OHI. VTR is another buy and hold REIT I am happy to make apart of my portfolio.
I know part of the reason these stocks are dropping is because of the rise in interest rates, all companies have faced rate increases before and I trust management is being proactive in figuring out solutions for success.
All in all, this adds up to a total of $3,147.18 spent on stocks.
These purchases should increase my projected annual dividend income by $185.96.
